Travel Tips

• For those wishing to travel to the Kingdom of Thailand: Please check the validity of passports and the sufficient duration for departure and return (the passport validity shall be more than six months).
• For those wishing to travel to the Kingdom of Thailand for treatment: Please check that the validity of passports is more than one year (since treatment may require staying for longer time).
• For those wishing for long stays in the Kingdom of Thailand: make sure to ask about the residency laws; besides, the procedures and instructions to be followed for renewing the residence.
• Regarding the reservations: please make your travel, accommodation and transportation reservations through licensed and reliable tourist offices.
• Make sure to stay in hotels and apartments provide the necessary safety requirements (building guards from one of the private security companies, and surveillance cameras outside the building / in the corridors), and do not stay in those located in popular areas, or remote parts of the city.
• Keep the official documents including, passports, ID card, credit cards, airline tickets and precious personal belongings in safe places. It is required to keep a copy of the passports, ID card for reference when checking with the Mission in case of losing passport.
• Do not mortgage the passport or the ID card in any entity whatsoever for any reason. Do not keep your identification paper with any other person including the spouse.
• Do not let the Thai security services inspect the place of residence without submitting an official search warrant issued by the prosecutor or the competent authority. In this case, please contact the Qatari Embassy in Bangkok (Hotline) promptly (even if the official search warrant did not submitted).
• If you are investigated in any case (or misdemeanor): you must insist on not making any statement unless after contacting the Qatari Embassy in Bangkok (and arriving the Legal Adviser of the Embassy who will be sent to the police station).
• Be careful not to sign rent agreements for apartment or cars unless after reading them carefully and making sure that they have insurance coverage against theft, fire and accidents.
• Make sure to record your data in the State of Qatar Embassy (and issuing Tourist Card from the Embassy)as soon as possible after arriving to your place of residence (to contact you if necessary).

Temples

• The Town hosts many temples mostly return back to the late of eighteenth century, the most known of them is Wat Pho, or what is known as Wat Phra Chetuphon.
